Growth Report

This tree has exhibited substantial growth this year. The screw that holds the name tag was completely embedded into the bark.

The circumference of the trunk was measured today at 70 cm. This makes for a diameter at breast height of 22.3 cm or 8.5 inches.

The tree is otherwise in good health and demonstrated a good canopy over the summer.

Records of this Tree

Although I have taken pictures of this butternut tree in the past this is the first posting that records of its growth and condition.

I estimate it to be about 7 metres (22ft) tall. It is in relatively good health with a full crown. There is some die off of the lower branches but looks good overall

The circumference of the tree is 54 cm so that translates into a DBH (diameter at breast height) of 17 cm or 6.7 inches.
